Update and new photos! :)

Hey All!

So it's been a while since we've updated our blog, and lots has happened since the last post, so here's an update:

Jana has since moved home (yay!) and we've had several Family photo shoots (pictures to be posted). We've been getting some inquiries as well as bookings for weddings this summer and fall. We're currently working on sample albums to show clients, as well as a price list that will include prices for albums to purchase.

We're also excited that we'll have a website up and running this spring! Currently our photos are on display on flickr.com and facebook. Stay tuned for an update with the website address!

We also want to send a big congrats to Jana's good buddy Christine, on the newest addition to the March family, Abigayle Charlotte, who was born December 17th. Sending out lots of hugs to the Connolly's and March's in NL!! xoxo

why photography: for as long as i can remember, i've been picture crazy. i have a huge rubbermaid container filled with pictures from junior high and high school alone... so i guess it just makes sense. i always thought of it as more of a hobby, but then people started asking me to take their photos, so i realized my passion could possibly be my career!

my first camera was: some sort of a kodak, and it took some sort of really freaky floppy disc type of film... at least thats the first camera i can remember.

i currently shoot with: a nikon D50... upgrade coming soon!

my favourite shot is: one of jack smelling a dandelion. it's a super close up of his nose and the flower, but the greatest thing was that as soon as i snapped the shot, he ate the flower and ran away, with the flower sticking out of his mouth and pollen all down one side of his face.

my dream shot would be: capturing a shot of nessie!! instant fame!

if i could do a photo shoot with anyone: i think it would be tony hawk. i love the look of skateboarding and snowboarding... the stunts they do are crazy, and i'd love to get some crazy angled shots... and so it'd have to be someone REALLY good, so i wouldnt be terrified that they'd fall on me and smash my camera!

my favourite colour is: purple... that really bright bluish-purple.

five most listened to tracks on my ipod: falling slowly by glen hansard and marketa irglova, music of the night from the phantom of the opera soundtrack, you're my favourite book by the stars, whats the frequency kenneth by r.e.m., lucy in the sky with diamonds by bono (across the universe soundtrack version)... completely all over the place with my taste in music.

three facts you didn't know about me until now: 1. i was green before it was cool... no really! i had a recycling club when i was in elementary, and i didn't speak to one of my friends for something crazy like a whole dinner hour because she threw her chip bag on the ground. true story. 2. i dont match my socks (ok, if you've ever met me, you already know this... but i really do find it a fun fact). i think they should sell really fun mismatched socks, so i can stop asking my friends (and business partner) to trade one sock with me! 3. i think i have a hidden talent thats just waiting to be discovered.

if i could go anywhere: it would be a europe road-trip per se... italy, greece, spain, scotland, egypt (ok thats africa, but i could make my way down there). i love history and architecture, and so any of those would put a smile on my face! but the romantic in me makes italy my #1.

other interests: interior design and decor, reading, movies, live music, traveling...

the soundtrack of my life would be: something really corny like It's My Life by bon jovi. i do believe that its now or never, you have to take chances, and stand up for yourself. a lot of the things i've done in life is because of the "now or never"... "live for today" motto, and i think its a pretty fun way to live.

the motto of my life is: "always live in a world of purple flowers and unicorns." yes, i made it up. to the average person, it probably doesn't make sense, but to me, it makes perfect sense. purple has been my favourite colour since i was a child. i love it. and unicorns... well, they represent so many things... mystery, magic, belief, dreams, uniqueness, compassion... things that we seem to lose sight of as we get older. so my motto reminds me to sometimes live in the world we lived in as a child, that world where we didnt need to see to believe, and to always be myself. :)

Here's our basic price list. We're currently working on some creative session ideas for those of you who want something a little different.

All sessions fees cover a personalized, on location photo session with the photographer and post processing services. Depending on conflicting schedules, shoots will include coverage by two photographers at no extra cost. 48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule your session time.

Basic Bliss - $95

Includes a personalized session with you and up to 2 other individuals. Session will be approximately 1 hour and be held at the location of your choice. **

Ultra Bliss - $200

Up to 4 people, includes up to 2 hours of coverage. The session is held at location of your choice.**

Ultimate Bliss - $325

Up to 6 people. It is an ideal choice for larger families and groups. It includes up to 2 hours of the photographers time, and a personalized session at a location of your choice.**

Wedding Photography- $800

Includes 5-7 hours of coverage. Fully edited black and white and color CD’s with full reproduction rights are included. Wedding album with 8x10 prints are also included. Albums of other sizes can be purchased, quotes available.

Engagement session can be added to wedding package for $100.

Event Photography:

If you are requiring photography for a special event such as a family reunion or birthday we would be happy to provide you with a quote.

**Session fee includes a fully edited color CD of your prints with full reproduction rights. A fully edited black and white CD can be provided for a fee of 25$

We have exciting news! (At least we think it's pretty exciting). We've finally decided that it's time we put our talents together and start up a photography business. We're still in the process of getting it under-way, but we wanted to announce it and get everyone excited about it as well! Together, we already have a variety of photography experience, which includes engagement photos, wedding photos, baby photos, and family photos!

This will be a bit of a slow process, as Jana is currently still in Ottawa, and will only bemoving back to NB in late September, but we're still available for bookings since Melissa is already conveniently located in Northern NB! We're very excited to be sharing this news, as we've been about to explode for weeks now!

Our website is a work in progress, as is our new blog, but keep checking in for new posts and pictures!

We look forward to hearing lots of feedback (hopefully of the positive sort) from all our future fans!
